Revolver Video (does not end like you think it will)

When I saw this I thought "handloaded too hot," but I looked this incident up and read more details.  This happened at a large gun rental range in Calgary.  Ammo was factory Hornady, not handloads.  Revolver had about 1,200 rounds through it at the time of this incident.  S&W replaced the gun.

Be careful out there,

Screwed up factory ammo is occasionally available as well. I know this from experience.

IIRC this was caused by an over torqued barrel from the factory that caused a crack that nobody noticed. 🙄

S&W had some problems with that some years ago. Its since long been corrected.

Saw one like that live back when the Joelton range was open. I believe it was a Ruger 6" .44 Magnum. Old fellow fired and it sounded low powered. Fired a second time and then I heard the barrel bouncing on the concrete floor! In that case I believe he fired a life round into a squib. Definitely hand loads.

I'm wondering how long he held that stance with his drawers loaded. That the shooter looked uninjured is mind boggling.

A friend of mine is an attorney and brought me a revolver to evaluate. Haha what was left of it. His client was at an indoor range and ran out of ammo. Billy Bob gun range employee gave him a 454 casull to send down range. (Wrong caliber). One pull of the trigger and the back strap was bowed up and the cylinder is now in 2 pieces and the spent Carthage was stuck in one of the cylinders. I pled ignorance and suggested he send it to the manufacturer for their opinion. No one was hurt but that Taurus was junk. Range settled out of court for an undisclosed amount. DUH.
