We have a 2001 Altima right now. With 130,000 miles and has never been in the shop. But we had a Quest before the altima and it had electrical problems.

Oh man! I've got a 2001 Altima that practically lives at the shop. If I had all the money back I've spent on that sucker I could buy a Ferrari!

If the vehicle in discussion has been on their lot over 90 days chances are they are paying around 10% floor planning on it a month. It does not take long for the true overall cost to the dealer to be so high he may take a loss on the vehicle to get rid of it. Yes, loss does happen but the dealer is reluctant to admit it. There are usually dealer hold backs that may or may not off set his loss. Options make a large difference in cost and profit potential to dealer.

Make certain you are dealing with an experienced sales person, preferably a sales manager. Make certain he knows you are a strong buyer and are going to buy a vehicle.

IMO, your offer was something they have got to look at seriously unless the model is a very hot item right now. A call to him may not hurt.

Good luck.

:D I'm currently in that situation, not with the sales manager, but an experienced guy, young guy, but not new. They knew my position, they knew my knowledge. My other problems is that what I am looking at, is in high demand (which is good for resale value), limited stock (had to order it from Alabama). I negotiated out my deal and is without sales tax, right where I wanted to be for a fair price. I still feel like I left money on the table:rolleyes:. I knew the invoice price, I knew the amount of incentives, I knew about what his hold back cash is. With it all said and done, I feel that I could have done about $500-$800 better. I'm going to ask for a couple more small items between today and Thursday/Friday when it comes in.

Thats the way I always feel after going to a dealer.
