North and Prater?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I have recently received several fixed bladed knives with bone handles that were made by North and Prater. The issues I am facing are: I know basically nothing about then, when looking on the net there's not a whole lot of good info especially when it comes to trying to assign a value to. I'm sure each one is going to based on its merit as they are all going to be different. Does anyone out here in TGO land have any general advice? I appreciate your time guys.

Worth or value is what some one will pay. Start high and move lower till it sells. The knife you posted a pic of looks good but  pic is at an angle and the blade looks short to me. There are a few knife makers on the forum, the  might know more about your knifes.

Search Michael Prater, he does a lot of custom knife work. If you've ever watched the Cutlery Corner Knife tv show, you'll see some of his work. They sell cheap knives to high end knives and he's well known for his Painted Pony Knife builds that he only does 5-10 Knives of a series. He builds them from Buck 110, Case Knives, Winchester Series, and Hen & Rooster knives. I've got a couple of Winchester Knives he did and a couple of Hen & Rooster Knives.

I can’t help with values but would be interested in buying them if you come up with a price. I’m in Smithville
