We are now the laughing stock of the world.

The US has been for sometime now. This is just the latest thanks to years of inept leadership, progressive politics,  lowering of education standards, and massive welfare entitlements.

They are saying the balloon shot down over Alaska may have been a hobyist club's balloon that got away from them. And we used a $200M jet and launched a $400k missile at a $100 toy.

We have a pilot that gained some experience shooting down an unknown object. They shoot drones out of the sky with the same missiles for practice. It's just one more training mission. The thing is, while we are all looking at the sky for balloons....Hunter admitted it was his laptop....the classified documents were discovered because of the emails from that laptop and it's $12 for a small meal at Burger King.

To be precise, a couple of them were reported to be hobbyist balloons.

This is what happens when people overreact and demand the government immediately shoot things out of the sky. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

I've been saying this for the past few years...glad to see someone's listening!

Now if the rest of America would wake up and smell the crap floating down.

Edit. Ok a serious comment...What scares the daylights out of me is the lack of education for the majority of the country. As has been said many times; China teaches hard science and a work ethic (forced perhaps, but it's working).

Our educators seem to focus on everything but "hard" education. We see classes on how bad this country and and how racist we are. All while living on tictock.

How sad.

Damned if the government takes any responsibility.

How much more responsibility can the government take?  They were pressured into admitting they had been tracking the ballon since its launch. They were pressured into admitting they allowed the ballon to travel on it path so the military could gain intelligence not only on the ballon, but how it interacted with Chinese satellites. Also, every American balloon expert immediately wanted the balloon shot down.

I think the government showed weakness in immediately shooting down the last three balloons to please the chicken hawks.

National defense policy should be left to the experts. The public doesn’t need to know everything our intelligence apparatus does.

As to the balloons showing up, Biden is confident there's nothing to be concerned about and said this in a Rose Garden press conference.

The President said, "Here at the White House, we join with the families in celebration at their gender reveal balloon release. That's all this is so let's go have some ice cream."

The President then proceeded to salute the rose bushes, shake hands with a dead pigeon, and then pretend to drive a car and honk a horn at the journalists.

Did you not get get the memo about no politics on TGO?

I’d love to share some opinions that would embarrass some and make others heads explode.

Did you not get the memo that comedy/sarcasm is allowed? This isn't politics, then again, as the old saying goes, "Everything is yellow to him with the jaundiced eye."

Because he doesn’t agree with you?

It has nothing to do with agreeing with me.  He says ignorant untrue ####, and no one calls him out on it.

Most assholes attempt to hide their vile with comedy. Just like the others asshole who post all the political memes. I’m going to start flooding the funny memes thread with political ####.
