Tennessee’s ban on 18-20 year olds obtaining handgun permits declared unconstitutional.

McNally has said he was upset with the new AG deciding to agree with the plaintiffs in the Beeler case.  He wants to take that power away from the office and suck it into the Legislators.

That would be for sure putting the fox in charge of the hen house.

He is ticked about the 18 year old thing, but does not want to take their ability to vote away or get married, sign contracts...

He hates his status as king to be challenged.

Sounds like someone that needs a conservative challenger next election.

Beeler v. Long - Firearms Policy Coalition

According to the FPC website it appears that an agreement has been reached and the state will soon have to start processing permits for people 18-20 years old, but while reading this I noticed it stated "At least 18 years old or older. (In April 2021, the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) sued the state of Tennessee for prohibiting 18- to 20-year-olds from carrying a concealed firearm in public or from obtaining a permit, stating that these restrictions were unconstitutional. On Jan. 23, 2023, Attorneys for the state of Tennessee entered into an agreed order in federal court with the FPC. The order stipulates that the state’s restrictions were unconstitutional and that they will no longer be enforced. The order immediately went into effect)."

Does this mean that constitutional carry has been in effect for people 18-20 years old since the original order? Or is this website mistaken?

If you're old enough to be taught to use an actual weapon(s) of war on man by the US Government:

then a personal weapon of peace should be granted at home or anywhere on US soil.

Well....that sounds good, buy the fact is only the MPs can carry on base here in the states.

What I don't understand is that 18 year olds can get handgun carry permits but cannot buy a handgun until 21. Would this put the liability to the person who gave the 18 year old a handgun to carry?

They can’t buy one from an FFL. They can purchase one private party and possess one with zero issues in TN.
