Plus one brother outlaw, but really we know he will fail us as gun owners but I do hope he makes things better for those out of work trying to feed their families and keep their homes but I wont hold my breath for that either.

Guess I'm the loner that hopes he does not fail. Our country is swirling the drain right now and too many more blunders will send it over the edge. Personally, I hope he does a damn good job and fixes our economy. Only time will tell. Our country just can't handle another failed president at the moment. And no, I did not vote for him.

I really don't think we want a socialist type country do we? That is what his succeeding will accomplish.

Failure, in my opinion, would be if he did not achieve the goals he's set out to achieve. Personally speaking, I don't want him to achieve his goals of more restrictive gun laws, universal healthcare, or a more socialistic country. Therefore, you could safely say that I want him to fail. I don't want the country to fail, but if he succeeds in attaining his goals, I believe that's exactly what will happen.

I hope like hell it his plans work. I don't think they will... I also haven't taken the right wing  that makes people believe Obama's goal is a socialist state. I think he is mostly naive... rather than nefarious... I hope he can repair the floundering economy and re-enforce American's constitutional rights (Let's not forget Bush kicked the fourth amendment in the nuts and Obama is hopefully going to repair some of that)...

Do I want him to succeed at instituting national healthcare? Hell no - and I certainly don't want more strict gun laws... But these aren't his only goals, so I don't want everything he attempts to fail... We all need to hope he does more good than bad... but let's not hope he fails...

I'd much rather have that than socialism. We can rebuild from those. It will be much harder to change laws once all of the monstrous institutions of socialism are in place. I would venture to guess that you would have a failed state and depression to get rid of socialism, anyways.

Didn't see this before my post. I thought you had lost it, bkelm18. I had Kat heading to your house with the straightjacket and electrotherapy kit. :P

I dunno, I hope he fails. His policies are surely going to send us down the crapper.

He succeeds, the country fails.

He fails the country survives.

Yep. +1

The economy always recovers, it's a natural cycle of it. Up for some years, down for others. We will survive it. We become a socialist run country, we are no better or stronger than the countries overseas and Russia, China, India rule the world as the superpowers. That's probably unlikely...I hope.

I was waiting for it to happen. Someone sees mine and Pirate's avatars and mixes us up. :D But I do agree with what he said. There are certainly various things I do not want him to achieve, but overall, this country cannot handle failure. Its just too weak. Not to mention, so many people put stock into Obama that if he did fail, this country would pretty much sh*t a brick.

I dont like him,but I do hope he can do some good.

I just dont go by the ideology that just because I dont like somebody, that I have to dislike everything they do/have/want.

I'm just waiting for him to proclaim his love for pancakes,to watch how many here proclaim their hatred for pancakes, and how pancakes will turn us all into a socialist mess!

As far as him turning us into a socialist country like China.....well :tough: thats not going to happen by him or anybody else!

My point is not like China, but weak, as a country, that we are knocked out of our super power role by China and the others. Maybe that is not a bad thing, then we can worry about ourselves for awhile and let the rest of the world clean up the crap and evil that is out there.

I agree 100%. Obama wants to change this country, and I don't think it is for the good. He wants change... so what country does America look like after it is changed?

Do I want Obama to fail? Well, I hope government healthcare fails. I hope attempts at bigger government and more regulation fails. I hope tighter gun control fails. I hope tax increases (says he's for cuts, but we all know he will raise taxes) fails. I hope his next multi-billion dollar bill chocked full of ear-marks and wastefull spending fails. I hope his policies on abortion fails. I hope his plans to release Gitmo detainees into America fails. I could go on and on....

I wish he would come up with some policy that I could support because nobody really wants their president to fail. However, I choose my country first and not the success/failure of some president. If his faillure means that the USA dosn't change for the worst, so be it.

I think some people are so hell bent on hating this guy that they don't see the larger picture. Personally, I do not want to see us go the way of Mexico. A complete failure. Standing by your ideals is great but it won't do much good if there is no country left to uphold those ideals for. Just my 2 cents. Different strokes for different folks and all that jazz.

wow, this really isnt where i intended this thread to go, i actually thought about adding something to the tune of "post up your own anti-obama pics if ya have em" just thought it was funny when i saw it. its actually a tshirt. i will probably buy it and wear it simply because there are so many pro-obama people around here that i want to piss off.

I don't hate him. I just know that this country has survived some very good presidents and some very bad presidents for over 200+ years. That is because of our constitution and core values. I am not in favor of changing those things, but I think Obama is.

In all reality, we have allowed our politicians and judges to butt frick the Constitution for so long that maybe the country deserves someone like Obama.

You are talking about George Bush, right?

All I heard for eight years is how so many liberals hated Bush. They couldn't argue based on much fact that Bush was that bad of a President. They just hated his guts and we heard it 24/7/365 through every liberal media outlet (that would be ALL of them).

This is a bit different.

Just as God does not hate the sinner, but the sin, it's not so much that people "hate" Obama, but his beliefs, agenda and policies. You don't base your assessment so much on what a man says, but what he does (and has done).

He has tipped his hand that he does intend to take this country to an extreme place of change as fast as he can. Everything is a 'crisis' that must be handled immediately without reading or thinking about it, just get it passed no matter what the consequences.

It's like narcotics. Anything that you put into your body that only affects it slowly and gradually is safer than something you put into your body that radically changes it very quickly. That's what is going on here. All in the guise of 'saving' the country.

He could have learned (if that were really his intent) that the first massive 'bailout' bill was a mistake when it was delayed and the market rallied. But then when it was passed the markets took a dive. Pretty indicative of a narcotic being introduced into the 'life system' of the United States.

Hopefully we will be able to stave off any more hastily passed bailouts or other rushed through legislation and survive 3 years 10 months xx days of Jimmy Carter Jr.
