Hello, need some info please and we cant find an answer anywhere, my girlfriend has been unemployed and has received 2 extension in the past.

The problem is her benefits will run out in a few weeks and we cant find out for sure if Tn. will extend the benefits for 20 more weeks since Bredeson finally did accept all of the Stimulus pack.

The dept. of labor web is useless, but she did receive the $25. increase last week, but dont know when or if the 3rd tier extension will kick in, best we can find out as of 3/19/09 that the Tn. legislature is to vote on the extension, but when or if we have no idea!

So any info. is greatly appreciated!

Thank You.

Great first post. Come to a local gun board to ask about unemployment benefits. No intro or anything. Someone here probably could tell you about free health insurance also.

Welcome to the boards, i ran across what you asked this morning!

"curious" asks:

"Did Tn. get the 20 week un-employment extension?"

Here's the latest I could find, filed 12 hours ago, by Nashville TV station WSMV's Cara Kumari:

"..the state fund set up to pay out those benefits is running out of money fast, with only $198 million left.

"The trust fund could go broke as early as the fourth quarter of '09," said Don Ingram with the Department of Labor.

...

It is now up to lawmakers to decide what the best course of action will be. The governor's administration, the Department of Labor and business groups are working together to put the final touches on legislation that could be in front of state lawmakers as early as next week.

The legislation will also include the extension of unemployment benefits necessary to access the federal stimulus money."

The Tennesseean's Melinda Hudgins elaborated on that legislation yesterday:

"Prior to extensions approved in 2008, out-of-work Tennesseans could collect up to 26 weeks of unemployment. Nine months ago, Congress approved the first 13-week extension due to the downturn in the economy, with a second extension signed in November by the president.

The new legislation provides up to seven more weeks of benefits to those who participated in the first extension for a total of 20 weeks. If Tennessee’s unemployment rate remains above 6 percent, unemployment claimants will qualify for another 13 weeks for a possible total of 59 weeks of benefits for eligible claimants."

Thank you, siegfried for your answer, we could not find out any info just a lot of people asking the same question.

If anybody got offended by my first post on a gunboard asking about un-employment, i do apologize sincerely. But we also have general and political sections.

I just dont have much free time since i work full-time 50-60 hrs a week and part-time another 20-30 hrs, per week, as far as health ins. goes, my gf has that under cobra and it runs her $505.55 per month.

I have been lurking here a while and think this is a great local forum and look forward to being a part-time member, as far as guns go i dont have much 1 vz58 and a Arsenal 107FR and a glock 27, 1 pf9, 1 p32 and 1 prl 16, we usually shoot at Coal-Creek Arm. which i am glad to see is alo a sponsor here.

On my wish list is a Tok. yugo m-57, which has just been available for a month or so, was going to order 1 from SOG but have seen and read reviews and most seem to not be in the greatest shape, as well as not all numbers match and to top it off, many are sent with only 1 original mag and the other mag is a standard one, which is useless.

So glad to be here. Thank's:p

Glad to be able to help and welcome again, this is a great place.

I also am a newbie here and have learned a lot since i joined, funny thing is that i also am looking and calling around in chatt. for a yugo m-57 but also with no luck.

I just like you am hesitant ordering one, there is another place, whose weird name i cant remember that is selling those guns for $375. & shipp.:P

which is crazy since at SOG they are $209. if you get 2.

Your VZ58 is really a great gun if made by D-Tech. and they do seem to be in a high demand, nice chatting with you.

If i hear or find any m-57s for sale at a show or shop i will list it for you!

You know there is a show in knox. in april, maybe we can find some there?

I can`t believe how quck some people can judge others not knowing a jack sh*t about their situation...you don`t just come out and start slaming people...some a**holes are saying how working man is to blame for taking mortgage he couldn`t afford it, well, I have a news for you Ainstain`s, when I bought my house in 2004 my mortgage was $860 per month and I was making $1500 per week running couple trucks at FedEx, so I didn`t get the mortgage I couldn`t afford it, only problem was that stupid Bush and his retarded administration screwed up the whole economy so I lost my job, and now I had no income and on top of that $1100 mortgage..hallo..how is that my fault??? when I called (country wide) and ask for help and if they would put my late pyments on the end of the loan, they told me scr*w you, well, I filed a bankruptcy and let them keep the house, so scr*w them....I don`t feel sory for anyone who was making money by leasing or renting houses, they were in business and they were making good money but at the end they lost and now they are angry, scr*w them, it`s a business, you take risks and sometimes you lose...some people are screaming against socialized health care and they don`t have a clue what that is, it is easy to criticize when you have a job and a health insurance but I`ll see what song you will be singing if you lose your job...!!! and no matter what kind of insurance you have, if you get seriously sick there is no way you can pay that doctor bill, it`s paid from the insurance, another form of social help...some idiots said to me that no one was born with the right on health care, great, why don`t you say that to the farmers who lost the farms were their parents were born because the bankruptcy they were pushed in to because of the hospital bills they couldn`t pay....I`m just amazed how many morons think they are untachable, and they run their mouth until the same s*it happeneds to them...I`ll tell you what, next time when you get sick or next time you get your social security check, make sure that while you are refusing it, you explain that you don`t accept health care or social security check because that is a socialism and you are a proud capitalist and don`t need that....believe me , NOBODY has enough money to pay for hospital treatments like surgerys, chemotherapy or 90% others, no matter what kind of insurance you have, who is paying is society...and that is, guess what..socialism... and one last thing, whole Europe has socialised health care and the only differents between US and Europe Health care is that in Europe EVERYONE has it, and please don`t tell me that German,Franch,Italian etc...health care isn`t good ...when did people lose their souls and compasion...when did that happened...sad
