⚠️ Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers ⚠️

This is an automatic reply meant to protect you as a buyer and a seller on TGO.

  • Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with.   Please come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete.  Your experience will help others.

  • Never agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun!  None of the electronic payment services will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction.  They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns.  DON'T DO IT.

  • Be very wary of anyone who insists on brokering a deal in private or outside of TGO.  Scammers almost always prefer to operate out of the public eye.

The complete Trading Post Rules and also some more helpful suggestions can be found by clicking this link.  Everyone should read them at least once!

Thanks for the reply. OP accepted offer and asked about meeting location then msg'd back that he was selling to another member 🤷‍♂️

Don't appreciate you lying like that after accusing me of running a scam, no less. Show me where I ever accepted your offer:image.thumb.png.64cddbbda8d16daaba80b130a48a79f0.png

Sorry bud, "yes I'd take $" and "what are your thoughts on location" lol it's not usually kosher to accept an offer and then sell it to someone else but you do you 👍 it is what it is.

I’m gonna say I think this was miscommunication.

The OP did say he was willing to take $450, but he qualified it with an “if” statement. He didn’t actually say “it is yours”. He also messaged again, before a meeting place was ever discussed, saying he went with another buyer.

Could the OP have been more specific with his wording to help the potential buyer know he wasn’t technically agreeing to a sale, just saying that $450 was an acceptable amount. yes. But I don’t see it as so egregious as to call him out, unless there is more more to the story.

Just my uninvited $0.02.

I appreciate your $0.02, though it reminds me of Bill Clinton arguing about the meaning of the word "is" lol "yes" means yes though, the distance not being a factor since he neglected to give me a chance to let him know that any of his suggestions would be fine, or that I work 10 minutes from where he is. Maybe he got an offer from someone down the street? It's possible, I guess. It just runs me the wrong way to have someone say yes to an offer and then sell an item out from under me. I wouldn't do that to anyone but I know not everyone is as courteous.

Keep on keepin' on man, its just the principle, it would have just sat in the closet anyway 🍻
