Well at 0655 I've experienced my first blackout of this event.

Thankfully my coffee just finished brewing,  and I just finished my first cup of said coffee.

Have several Streamlight lanterns turned on and a fully charged phone.

Guess I'll have another cup of coffee.

Life is good.

Be safe folks.

Power came back on before I finished my second cup. Now I have to reset the friggin clocks on the stove and microwave.

Definitely First World problems... 😉

Just had our first here in Chattanooga. About 10 minutes. the worst was listening to our 8 year old whine.

Did any of y’all have any of your windows freeze around the bottom of the frame where it sweats?Ours sweat some around the frame when it’s cold.Had a couple that was froze at the bottom this morning.70 degrees in the house.

That happens every time it gets really cold in my house. Aluminum framed windows and an aquarium that keeps the humidity up in the house.

Which reminds me, I need to get a towel and dry all the condensation off the window frames when it finally thaws out. It gets moldy and damages the sheetrock otherwise.

As I live alone I have to rely on myself for the whining. I'll admit it sounds more like cursing though... 😉

Middle TN Electric put out a message saying Rutherford County "may" have rolling black outs this Saturday. Duration will be 15 minutes. I hope not. I am not turning on Christmas lights and have downed my thermostat 2 degrees. Keeping all unnecessary lights turned off.

How are the "Tree Huggers" thinking they are going to put millions of electric cars on the road and keep them charged? What A Joke they are playing/putting on us. TVA can't even weather a 4-day storm right now.

Power started blinking on and off last night, for like a second every hour or so. Went off last night several times for ten - fifteen minutes. So far twice this morning.

Merry Christmas to all. Stay warm

We just went through our first rolling block out while I was typing this. Lasted 20 minutes. I guess this is going to be the norm from now on. Sorry Sorry Sorry

Edited to add; Temperature dropped 1 degree, on my thermostat, during the electric cut off.

In Nashville - blackouts at  5:50, 6:30, 7:27, and 8:51.

It was 12deg F at the time of the last blackout.  No way should we need rolling blackouts when it is 12deg F.  I think I will write some letters once the new year rolls around.

I hear tales that Bull Run is down. That would explain the power shortage.

Yep that would. BRF is a pretty big plant. I also heard CUF (Cumberland) may also be having issues. That is another big plant.

Going to the Titan's game tomorrow, God help me!

I was at the last "coldest game on record" Christmas or New Years 2017. 23 degrees at kickoff and that was a night game so it kept getting colder. Hopefully your 20 degrees at kickoff will end up with warmer temps by the end.

Remember when Texas had their major power grid issues? When that happened TVA said we would be able to handle sustained periods of negative temperatures before we had issues with the grid. I wonder what has changed. Perhaps Bull Run being down would explain it.

We had two power outages this morning 6-am and 9 am.  pulled the covers up and went back to sleep. Seemed like Gods will. To sleep in lol

Last night they cut power to all the traffic lights. The houses had power. A few houses had a nasty surprise this morning with water running down their driveway.

Power was also cut at one of our locations because we have a massive generator with a few thousand gal tank.

Yeah it was cold, we were in my truck prior to the game starting and it was 10.

Than whoever decided on pushing the start time out a hr was a Fin idiot as 100's were walking in, rolling black out excuse, yeah right, news flash the stadium was totally powered up overnight we were told.

It sure did get warmer as the game got going, had 10.

I find this whole fiasco suspect. A good percentage of Tennesseans heat with natural gas or propane, while a smaller percentage burn wood. EVERYBODY uses electric air conditioning in the summer! Why have we not had problems in August?
