Congrats, man

Got mine yesterday at 12 days. There have been a couple folks that had issues when they called lately. But for the majority, you're right on the money.... Funny how a lot of us (including me) get so impatient :P Especially in my case after i had put it off for so many years ;)

:DBoth the wife and I Got printed n completed ap on 3/16. Day 31 (thurs 4/16) couldn't handle it any longer n made the call. SUPER nice lady said she'd get them issued out "tomorrow" (4/17) and to "expect them in the mailbox the following week!!!" :) Sounded too good to be true!! Called back on the following monday(today)and was told had been issued on friday(4/17)... but got the 7-14 day answer!! I liked the "next week" answer better!!

Just another MAILBOX BUZZARD as someone else described it!!

WallyWorld is callin my name!!!

Grrrr...

Was told 7-14 days on 4/9...if it's not here by Thurs I'm going to call.

You'd think it wouldn't take two weeks, considering I live in the freaking capital.

Filed all the paperwork on Feb 9 and called today to see what was going on and pretty much just got the answer that "it will be 7-14 days when they receive the paperwork." I mentioned Feb 9th and pretty much got the same answer.:P:blah: We were told that if we hadn't received it in 3 months to contact the instructors that gave us the class.:death:

Well, called Wednesday a week ago and received it Thursday the following week. Got to carry it with me to visit family in S.C.

About five months ago, on a Monday I was denied a gun purchase based on the background check and my HCP came in the mail two days later on Wednesday! Needless to say I was surprised...

I guess I was okay to carry a gun I just couldn't buy one. Ha!

So I filed the appeal form and the denial was finally overturned and purchase approved (a Colt WWII Commemorative 1911), but I thought the timing was kinda' funny, especially considering I'd passed numerous background checks for gun purchases in previous years and had been in no trouble of any kind, so had no change in my background stats.

You never know what's going on with a bureaucracy...

so...what happened

You know, I see a pattern here. Everyone makes the call and the nice lady on the phone says everything is good and it'll be 7-14 days.

Do you all think that making the call actually spurs them on to print the card? Or do you think it is just their standard answer to get you off the phone so she can get back to her solitaire game?

It seems to me that most of the time it speeds things up.

At least I hope so, cause my wife just called about her permit, and a nice lady on the other end of the line said it would be 7-14 days :poop:

I just called today at 13 days from finger print(14 from application) and a man answered. He wasn't really friendly but wasn't unfriendly either. He said it'd be issued today and I should get it in 7-14 days! Not bad for two weeks after my app.

Applied 4/25. Called 5/5. Mailed 5/6. Received 5/11.

Had I not called, I'm sure I'd have waited much longer.

Thanks all for this topic - KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Just like the nice lady said, her permit arrived about a week later. I'm convinced the call brings the paperwork back to the top. :(

Today, at 27 days since fingerprinting, I called and the nice ( though tired sounding ) lady said "7-14 days". Whew. I was worried that phil bredeson himself was going to deny me for complaining about his "osteoporosis of the spine" in vetoing the restaurant carry bill. He is a toolbag.
