1911 replacement short trigger

What is a good place to get replacement triggers at? I want to replace the triggers on three of my 1911's with shorter ones. Wilson combat has the short triggers but they are out of stock. I did look at the usual places such as optics planet and brownells. Dont know what is good and what to avoid.

I have used EGW for short triggers-

They have what they call tractor tread with a very slight curve-

I have them on both of my Kimbers in 9mm-

Midway USA is showing short triggers in stock from Cylinder and Slide and Nighthawk. Both are excellent quality.

I was looking at the nighthawk ones. But I knew nothing about them.

As perturbing as fitting a 1911 trigger can be you might as well just Dremel what you have down to whatever length you want.  😀

Well, John Harrison, EGW, Wilson, NightHawk, 10-8 Preformance, do a search and you should find what your looking for. Remember you'll have to do some fitting on the new one, but it's not hard just got to take a few measurements of your old one and take measurements of your new one, I've fit every trigger in my 1911's and 2011's myself. Usually the only filing you will have to do will be on the Top & Bottom of the Shoe, the sides very rarely need any stoning or filing.1st pic. Old Trigger, 2nd pic the new one that I fitted on one of my Staccato 2011's.20210116_104128.thumb.jpg.9793c4aa151a3d502fa525b84af3a5ed.jpg20210116_105629.thumb.jpg.5986a8152bffbe11c38cb94c30f83bd8.jpg

Very rarely will you get one to slide in place. Also the over travel set screw will need set also, check out YouTube and punch in EGW, or Hilton Yam from 10-8 Preformance, even Wilson Combat has some great videos explaining everything you will need to do in order to get the job done. It's not hard but you will have to pay attention to what your doing so you don't end up with a ruined part or a faulty Trigger.

The EGW short triggers I installed only needed to file a little on the top and bottom of the trigger-

EGW has a permanent over travel bump where there is no adjustment needed-

And they work pretty good at that-
