I keep a round in the chamber because I don't want to ruin the finish because I had to beat someone to death with my pistol.

Yup, matter of fact, I don't think I know a single person who doesnt.

Dude... that cracked me up! Seriously! That hit me just right!:drama:

Round in the chamber on my primary and one in my back up. If I had to pull it, I don't want to have to worry about chambering a round and being. unprepared.

I don't know what kind of sense that would make, If there is not a round chambered and you get into a situation, you have to pull your gun, chamber a round, point, and shoot. By that time, I could have at least 8 rounds fired .

Yep, one in the chamber, ready to go.

I think alot of people without training are scared of it at first, but once you realize that it's not gonna go bang without you doing something to it, you'll be fine.

Wheel gun here. Chamber has to be loaded or it's just a paper weight.

I've been reading all of these stories in the newspaper lately about those of us who carry weapons being a threat to society that I have stopped putting bullets in my gun.

:drama:

Yes, I got my bullet out, Andy.

Orrrr, you could always ask the gentleman if he'd be kind enough to give you just a tic while you chamber a round. I'm sure he'd oblige just to make things fair.

Or you can hope that racking the slide on your semiautomatic will scare them off. Same with cocking the hammer on a revolver to get to a chambered cylinder. ;)

Like bteague2 said, without a round chambered it's nothing more that a club or an object to be thrown.

Yeah, I got that, thus the rolling eyes. Kinda like the how you do you leave your home defense shotgun thread. Sorry for the confusion.

You sir, are a brave man. I keep the magazine in one pocket and the glock on the opposite side of my body in the holster...just to keep from shooting my butt. Glocks are dangerous!;)

Dude, you gotta start quoting people so we know who you're being all crazy in the direction of...

On Topic: Yes, always. Back when I carried a DA/SA Sig, it was hammer down round in the chamber. With the G19, a round in the chamber. Now, with my USP9c, I carry cocked and locked. :)
