My new play thing.

I have been looking for one on and off for about a year and all my buddies knew. I did not want a reproduction or a Universal. I wanted a WWII era M1 Carbine, like the one I stupidly got rid of years ago. So the other day a good friend calls and said he had found one. So one things leads to another and last night I picked up a 1943 build Underwood M1 Carbine. Just took it out and the rain for a test run and performed flawlessly. Didn't realize until I pulled the trigger how much I really missed this rifle.

Of everything, I like shooting those the most. I've got an IBM that was my first "high-power", or center-fire rifle. Still have it and love it.

Very nice, always wanted one but with the prices and another caliber to support, just really isnt feasible for me at this point!

I picked up an IBM earlier this year that filled a big gap in my small collection. Since I'm a software architect by trade, I really wanted the IBM.

The price was well below what I would have invested in a CMP rifle counting the membership for with a affiliate group but I can use my C&R for discounts other places and to order a Nagant 1895.

Now the only question that remains is "Will it stop a llama?"

Youre opening a can of worms asking as to what it can stop, myself from all i read from testimonials mainly during Korea, the bullets were stopped by the Quilted clothing of the Koreans and this round never was known as a Man-stopper! But one hears a lot of stuff, if i am not mistaken this weapon was to mainly be used for self-defense instead of a pistol, sort as a pdw.

Very nice carbine. I picked up a Universal Generation 1 (The one that used USGI Parts) not to long ago and it performs flawlessly.
