Who in Tn can strip and redo a nickel SW 29?

And if not in Tn.. who would you recommend? I have a 4” P&R that is tight as a new one.. really deserves a re-nickel

I don't know of anybody in TN. Nickle can be tricky and a bad job will hurt the gun's value badly. I recommend Ford's Refinishing in Florida. Many S&W collectors swear by them. However, be aware that it won't be cheap and will take quite a while. They stay backed up for months.

Just how bad is the gun? Can you post pictures?

I’d also recommend calling Bobby Tyler in TX. Tyler Gun Works

Also Hamilton Bowen at Bowen Classic Arms

Unfortunately, Bowen Classic Arms stopped work on S&W projects in 2016.  They do sell Rough Country rear sights and DX front sight blades for S&W revolvers.

Well dang. Didn’t know that. I’ve always wanted to get a full-up custom single action done by him. Maybe one day.

No. Bowen is famous for his  Colt, Ruger and custom built SAs.  IIRC that's all they do these days.

In many cases, collectible S&Ws will lose considerable value if refinished. Collectors would much rather have an all original gun with little to no finish remaining than a fancy refinished one.

Exactly. Custom Ruger or Magnum Research BFR worked over by them.
As far as collector value, I’ve never understood why it’s important to them that it not be refinished. Unless it has to do with the gun’s history being a part of the equation. But, I’ve never studied up on it.
But enough of me sidetracking the thread.

Right. Following the flow, @res308seemed disappointed that Bowen was not in the S&W business anymore so blame it on him. 😀
