Nine Dollar Shoelaces

HA! You guys think ammo is high? I just paid nine evverluvvin' dollars for a pair of shoelaces!! Honest!!

But they're sure worth it, believe it or not. I had a hip joint replaced in November and it will be some months before I can get down to tie my right shoe again, so they have me in New Balance's with elastic shoelaces. They work like a charm and are sure comfortable.....they turn a nice pair of walking shoes into a very good pair of loafers......but even at that I about died when the gal rung them up. Heck, nine bucks? That's 25% of a box of Winchester Silvertip 9mm's fer cryin' out loud (and to me that's even more ridiculous.)

Never heard of elastic shoelaces. I've been meaning to change out my boot laces with paracord. I hope you have a swift recovery from your hip replacement!
