I am having fun... thanks. I just read my new magazine from the NRA, and plan to renew my membership when the time comes.

Good I'm happy for you.

Sounds like they're doing a push right before the Annual Meeting to visibly demonstrate their growth to all constituencies and the gub'ment. Thoughts?

I signed up a few months ago - all it has gotten me so far is 2-3 NRA spamming emails *per day* and no confirmation I am actually a "member".

Got my membership stuff in the mail about three weeks ago. Wife got hers too. Then they sent us new stuff about a week later because we both got 1 yr. free membership when purchasing some new Taurus pistols. So now we have two years NRA for free. (although I do intend to send in either a donation or extend for a few more years).

Just got the first magazines in the mail yesterday too.

I got my packet a few weeks after joining from the original link in this thread. I've even recieved two of the monthly magazines so far. Gotten a few spams, but way less than I was expecting.

I just now revisited the link and it looks like it has changed some. Now it is a "Trial Membership" without the full benefits like the monthly magazine.

I thought it was kind of a scam...until my nra member card came and then the magazine last night, I have already gotten a discount from the sportsmans guide with my membership to the nra...and I havent gotten any spam mail as of yet! I will renew...its worth the 25 bucks, already saved 10 bucks on a range bag too and the mag is a good read too.

Well neither the wife or I have received any membership info or emails. But this week I got a magazine, but not hers.

Seems like everyone is getting something different. Wonder if they had a bigger response than they were ready for?

While I believe that the NRA has done some good things for gun owners they are not the strong lobbying group that they would have us believe. I believe that LaPierre is only there to pad his pockets.

There are supposedly around 80 million gun owners in the US. Why can they only get 4 million to join as members? If we could really see that they were ALWAYS on the front line fighting for our uncompromised 2A rights then they would get members but they are to quick to accept those compromises and then tell us they are on our side. More and more lawmakers are voting against the NRA because they are not afraid of losing that vote anymore.

I am an NRA member but I am more proud to be a member of GOA. Locally TFA is doing a great job of fighting for our 2A rights here in TN and you should consider joining that group.

I'm not saying don't join the NRA but don't think that they are the only option. What ever you do be active and vocal in our local issues. The restaurant carry bill fight was a great example that is not over quite yet. The members here did an outstanding job of communicating with our lawmakers. I hope you are still calling and emailing Bredesen.

:) to all of you who have been active in this and all of our gun related bills this year. Keep it up!
