I finally got around to making this loads I had inquired to the group about.

Using Hornady .30 cal .308 diameter 168gr ELD Match

CCI Large Rifle Primer

IMR 4198: 16.0gn

Test rifle: PSA AK-47 16.3" barrel.

Groupings at 100 yds: 1.25

Any other details, please feel free to ask.

Barely any felt recoil. Couldn't test velocity because my chronometer broke.

My only question is why .308 bullets? Isn't the bore on that AK .311?

Did you have any difficulty with seating and setback?

Hornady's original data before they developed bullets for the correct bore size is .308. No difficulties seating or anything. Fired 10 to test accuracy and inspect cases for signs of over pressure, didn't notice any warning signs, ran a full 30 rds as fast as I could pull the trigger to see if they'd jam. No issues.

Even though a lot of 7.62x39 rifles have  .310 - .311 grooved barrels, a lot will shoot good with longer .308 bullets. Because of the longer bearing surface. Glad they shot good for you Scatman.
