Hey all,

I was just wondering if anybody in the chattanooga area knows of any good firearms training. along the lines of Doddtraining. (dodd is the only one I know of off the top of my head.)

I've been wanting to take a defensive pistol class, or other type of practical firearms course. but the biggest problem is that I work on saturdays. so right now I can only take a course on sunday or monday.

I'll probably be taking a course with ronnie dodd soon, as I have heard good things about him.

I've read some good things about randy harris here, but the only course's I see with him as an instructor are when suarez international has a class in chattanooga.

I know there is also Shootrite down in NE Alabama with Tiger Mckee. but then there is the cost, plus drive time, plus hotel & food, etc. etc.

I'm specificaly looking for courses in the chattanooga area. I see or hear about very few of them, and chattanooga needs some more. so does anybody have any ideas or information for the chattanooga area?

You pretty much covered it.Dodd is the best in this area and I know all the ones around. With Dodd what you see is what you get.No B.S.and decades of teaching experience.

in reply to your email, Phil Metcalf of chattanooga tn is getting ready to begin conducting firearms training classes to the public.

He worked several years as the firearms instructor for the hamilton county sheriffs dept and shot nra police combat . he won the tenn state championship several times and competed nation wide in regional matches. he should be soon taking students, for more information his cell number is 423 503 2571.

Yeah that sucks big time. I know Ronnie and he is a great guy. I was really sorry to see that in the paper today and wish him the best of luck in keeping his range open. I have actually taught a class there and I do not see how his neighbors could end up with "shrapnel" on their property. They are probably just unhappy about having to listen to gunfire.....What a bunch of crap.

Thanks for the info, As soon as time and $$ allows I'll give him a call.

Thanks for the reply's, All PM's have been returned.

I hated seeing that article about Dodd. If people are not harrassing the range at Prentice Cooper, :bored: their suing Montlake, now they are threatening Dodd.

and its all b/c somebody doesn't like guns. I belive there should be an idiot tax put in place. :D
