Another call...another issued permit.

Applied and printed on Feb. 24th. Had to force myself not to call until 30 days had passed, but today I made the call. Nice lady said it was issued today (what a coincidence :stick:) and to wait 7-14. I was hesitant to call, but it took her all of 1 minute to type my info into the computer and "check" the status, and the end result was my permit in the mail.

When you find out, would be great to hear what your uncle was told, cjames!

Congrats, apparently the TGO'ers have stumbled on to something here. Feel bad for all the non TGO people who don't have this advantage and continue to wait....naaa not really.

I don't understand this need to call b.s.. It seems as if that has become an unofficial requirement of finishing an already arduous procedure.

And everyone who posts about calling states that when they do, they are told it was issued that day. As in 'coincidentally' issued just before they called? Or because of the call?

What gives?

Probably a better chance of finding nachos than ammunition...they're on to us. :tinfoil:

Not sure but I remeber when I got mine the lady said something like "We just got your background check in I'm issuing it now and it will be in the mail tomorrow."

That was how it was about 8 months ago. I don't know why you have to call, but it seems like you do.

Congrats and welcome to Wal-mart.

You know you can't wait that long to call again...

When they do tell you it's being issued and to expect it in 7-14, don't fret, it won't take that long. Only took 3 days after the call for me.

Chalk another one up to "THE CALL"

Call (866) 849-3548 and navigate the menu. There is an option for Handgun Permit Status. The lady asked for my DL# and verified last name, said it would be issued that day and would receive it in 7-14 days. They should put this on a recording by now.

I agree this makes no sense just sitting on these applications till you call.

Unless it is an actual problem with their software. Could very well be.

Applied on Feb 5th called Mar 24th got it yesterday Mar 30th. Woo Hoo:koolaid:

I'm not familiar with the WalMart thing can someone enlighten me or give me a link. Meanwhile I'll start searching.

You ain't legit until you do the walmart walk after receiving your permit. Once you exit there will be a group of TGOers that will shave your eye brows and give you a giant wedgie..... don't painc and shoot anyone though.... it's all a part of the process.

I think it's for CC. IIRC.

But after you get comfortable carrying...... you can try OC.

It's legal (Do check the door for Posting) BUT, the choice is yourz.

BTW.... Congrats to all the recent holders of a Tn HCP!!

Stay safe and out of trouble.
