Electric Guitar Players?

Recommended Posts

I guess I am going through a Mid Age crisis, I have always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, so, I ordered a Fender stratocaster American Deluxe V-Neck, Candy apple red with a Gold pick guard, man this thing is gorgeous, I also got a Fender Super Champ XD amplifier, now all I have to do is learn to play it! I am working on it:cool:

That's great! Have fun with it

It definitely doesn't hurt to try taking lessons from a good instructor for awhile...nothing like having a real person help correct your basic technique before it develops into bad habits. Plus you get better a lot faster when you have to do your 'homework' and play for your instructor every week or two! :stick:

All you really need to know are the "A", "E", "D", "G" and "C" chords.

You'll never need to go past the third fret to rock out like a stadium hero.

I have played for 11 years now. I played rythm guitar in church for about 5 years, now i just play around the house. I do have an elecric (Fender Strat I am rebuilding) but my heart is in Acoustic Guitars.

Here is my little girl (at 4 months) with my Taylor 514ce. The daughter's name is Diana Renee' the guitar's name is Geneva.

I just finished building this guitar from scratch:

I don't play nearly as much as I used to, but do get great pleasure from building them now.

I hate every one of you string strummers. Go to ____

Sorry, I take it back. I have wanted to play guitar all my life, my old man could play anything with strings on it. Banjo, Steel guitar, flat top, electric, bass, piano, harp, you name it, he could make smoke come off of it. He also hated to play. If asked, he could care less about playing anything. Me on the other hand:rolleyes: Tried to make a deal with GOD, in exchange for 6 string talent, I'd give up 10 years of my life; Even promised to never play in front of anyone except my wife. He wasn't accepting my offer:(

Glad to see someone can play, cuz I'm the most tone deaf sob ever born, I'll just keep surfin' with the alien on my air guitar

I was never to good at the guitar either... pick up a bass!

I'm sure that's going to get me flamed by some lurking bassist, but I always found it quite a bit easier than the guit-fiddle.

LOL...I'm a bassist and you'll get no flame from me! Bass is easier for me than guitar, but I enjoy playing both. Bass moreso.

Ditto here, kinda. I play bass at church and played bass in some bands in college, but when I'm just playing at home for myself, it's always guitar. Loud, cranky, and with lots of gain! I just have one 5 string bass, but I have 5 guitars. (Had over a dozen at one point, but that was silly)

I'm much better at bass because I don't have to fool with chords and stuff, but I like crunchy riffing on a guitar best!

Another bassist here... I've been playing guitar since I was 14, but with my short, stubby fingers bass is quite a lot more enjoyable. I got my guitars and amps stolen in a break-in a couple of years back, and now all I've got is a cheapo 5-string Michael Kelly electric-acoustic bass to keep the callouses on :P.
