New NY ammo law, thoughts?

So, NY now does BGCs for ammo sales, what are your thoughts on this decision? How likely do you think something like this will be on a federal level under current administration with everything that's been going on recently?

Personally, I view it as unconstitutional on the same grounds they found the harder to obtain carry permits unconstitutional. Do I see something like this going into effect on a Federal level? Under this administration? They will definitely try to push it along, Biden administration has already made moves here recently to restrict ammo, but were met with resistance.

I’ve posted this before. The British came to Concord that day to confiscate firearms from the people. Those firearms were not personal rifles and pistols they were the canon that were stored in the armory. They were also after the powder and the shot, cannon shot. Most people had their own personal firearm with a small amount of powder and a few lead balls to hunt and protect them selves. If they needed more powder they went to the Armory to get it. The British Also went to the harbors to try and get the ships that had yes cannons on them, with powder and shot. Anything the commle pukes can do to take the Second Amendment away from us they’re going to try. We have to be very vigilant.

NY tried the BGCs back in 2013 and thought they were going to use the Federal system and the Feds told them they had too much to do already and do it themselves if they wanted to do all that paper work. Last I hear they still hadn't gotten a system to do it but keep threatening to.

Latest I heard that their new concealed carry changes where they will require class room and live fire, is that they are shutting down the whole system while they develop the coarse work with estimates of 6-18 months. My guess it will take longer and they will use it as an excuse for completely denying new pistol permits.

Why does this not surprise me. I watch their governor rant and rave about how the Supreme Court stepped on her toes. The leftist Commies are strong in this world.

As a refuge from New Yorkistan I am very grateful  we now live in Tennessee. I was looking at this law they passed in NYS and it is so vague and broad its hard to tell what is what. A friend of mine passed several years ago and had an AR-15, which had to be registered. NYS law prohibits his wife  from having the rifle ( its a felony) !! It now resides in Tennessee.

Think Cali already does this and more.   We know how safe that State has become since that law was implemented in 2019

This happened in CA around the time I left, on the heels of their AWB along with a host of other unconstitutional new gun restrictions.
They all sucked. I was exempt but it and the other things were a tipping point for me.

While ammo bgc had the bonus of giving the gun grabbers what they wanted, one of the main drivers was downplayed. It was about TAX.

Most volume shooters bought out of state sales and the state wanted the missing revenue and the Wayfair ruling wasn’t in effect in most states. A couple years prior,  DOJ also changed tax collection requiring dealers to collect on out of state firearms including  shipping or accessories when shipped together.

A bit off topic but still NY gun laws. Heard the other day that the county in Western NY I moved from 7 years ago voted to make the whole county gun friendly and any private owners that want to restrict their business will need to put up signs and all public place that use to be gun friendly will return to friendly. Basically nullifying the new NY law that made most of the state gun sensitive and private owners needed to put up signs saying guns welcome.
