Four months ago I decided it was time to take control of my own defense and purchased my first handgun. Two weeks ago I completed the handgun carry permit class, paid my fee's to the state and am patiently waiting for it in the mail.

I am glad to find a forum where I can talk with other TN gun owners.

Welcome!

What did you decide to go with on your first?

I went with a 1911 copy. Works great after I replaced the stock magazine with some Chip McCormick ones, feeds the hollow points very nice, have yet to have a jam with the new mags.

Mine is manufactured by Metro Arms. They make the American Classic II and Firestorm brand of 1911's which are both nearly identical(different advertising I assume). I have the American Classic II. I've put about 300-400 rounds through it.
