300 Blackout Opinions?

Been eyeballing a little CVA Scout V2 Compact in 300 Blackout at a local gun store and I'm more than likely gonna pick it up the weekend. Don't need the gun but like the feel of it and the weight. Thought it would make a dandy little brush gun for some of these timber cutting spots I hunt deer and pigs; with 50 yard shots at the most. Would be running a 3 moa red dot for this setup.

Anybody got experience taking deer or hogs with this round?

I've taken a few deer with 300bo. Ballistics are close to 30-30 or 7.62x39. 

Where it really shines is suppressed with subsonics. With a bolt action or single shot you can really get creative with faster powders and it can be "Hollywood quiet."

I'm thinking of a suppressor down the road and subsonics for the pigs. Be headshot only on them; was just wondering how it did on deer with hunting ammo. Would assume like with any caliber as long as shot placement is good they would be no problems.

With good ammo, you're going to get 30 to 50 yard runners.  That's with the typical supersonic hart/lung shot. Black tips will get you a pass through. 125 Nosler bt is a good bullet and it will stop just under the skin on the off side. 110 V Max will never exit and do a bunch of damage. Nothing will instantly drop unless you have a CNS hit. I probably have around 50ish kills with the 300 blackout/Whisper. Probably witnessed 30-40 more. I Have some subsonic kill videos from when I was just learning the sub game and getting my reputation started, but several are 308 sub kills.
