Gun buy back

Saw on news the Nashville predators. Foundation is holding a guns give back for predators gift cards at Greater revelation church this weekend. Seems like they have done this since 2011 with more than 650 gun turned in.   If I was closer to Nashville I would be on next block with sign and lots of fifty dollars bills.  Christmas in August.   lol

My buy back program is more selective but pays better  for unloved and unwanted guns. I’m doing the Lords work here  ha ha

Memphis tried 2 buy backs years ago. I went to both with cash in hand and came home empty handed. Nothing but total junk. Nothing worth buying. However, I did turn in a RG-22 that only worked on 3 cylinders for $75 worth of gas and grocery gift certificates. 

BTW: one was across the parking lot on the same day as a gun show. The buy back took in 26 POS guns and the gun show attracted over 5000 visitors.

I prefer stolen guns be returned to their owners or auctioned off if no owner can be found if they have any value.  Many agencies are too exuberant in destroying said firearms, regardless of what the law allows.

Here's one actual photo from this buyback. For many in this picture alone, I'd gladly give double the amount they were giving in gift cards.

I heard of one recently where they paid pretty well for the guns handed in and they ended up with a ton of 3d printed guns.  Someone with a 3d printer made good profit on that buy-back.

I'd bet that most of those guns are too hot to hold. Probably got a body or two on them as well. I see a couple there worth some real money. 

I wonder if ballistics and serial numbers will be checked? Or was anonymity part of the deal?

the AR and at least one of the shotguns appear to be NFA no?

That was a Houston buy back program. You can bet that crew got a lesson on firearm identification afterwards

Does everyone get the same amount for the guns they bring in?  Or is based on the value of the weapon?   Never been part of these and Im curious.

It’s usually based on the type of weapon. You get this for a handgun and that for a long gun.  Those people have no clue what the value of the things people are turning in is nor do they have the capacity or wherewithal to do so.

That’s why so many people go turn in absolute pieces of junk.  Then again, some people are turning stuff in and taking a loss, not that they care.

I have 2 that I would gladly turn in for 75 cash each! Total junk...old H&R 22 and a 92FS clone in 22. 

Actually would like to attend a buy-back and watch how it's conducted.
