FINALLY Got It (Remington 870 Marine Magnum)

With a whole lot of patience, and a little wheelin' and dealin', I finally got the Remington 870 Marine Magnum I've been searching for.

I agree. This probably would lead to more powder residue on the silver magazine tube that is extended beyond the barrel.

Fancy? I prefer the term Bad A$$. Nevertheless, the Marine Magnum is now Head of Security around the house. And a fine job it's doing.

So school me. I always thought those were stainless, but they're nickle-plated. Is that more corrosion resistant in "marine" (water) environments?

Stainless is corrosion resistant (also, not all stainless is created equally), it will still rust, particularly in the harsh salt environment. Chrome and nickel are added to make the SS and to give its corrosion resistance. Nickel in itself is much more corrosion resistant in salt environments than the mixture.
