Fobus USA is currently offering a FREE paddle, double mag holder, with the purchase of one of their three, new style paddle holsters. The double mag holders have a list price of $24.00. Buying a $29.95 holster and getting a $24.00 mag holder free sounds like a good deal to me. Check it out at www.fobusholster.com. They say "FOR A LIMITED TIME".

:shhh:

Since this was my first attempt at starting a thread, I thought I would give a

"heads up" on some value priced equipment. I didn't think it would brand me as being a "no friend" contributor.:D

I happen to like Fobus actually!

Thanks for the info, and it does not brand you as a "no freind" contributor. Having said that, it still does not change the fact that Fobus is not GTG.

Don't sweat it, humor abounds on here :shhh:. Not everybody likes Fobus (or Glock, for that matter... including me), but the info is certainly appreciated.

You'll come to find that just about any specific equipment which comes up in our many discussions gets beat to death with opinions both pro and con... We don't really all have pine-cones lodged in our lower digestive tracts, it's just fun to take a position simply in order to incite healthy debate.

Welcome, by the way.

rockytop: You misunderstood my intentions. If you're serious about carrying a gun for self defense, don't waste your money on Fobus products.

Fobus products are not recommended because of the ease that the holster

can be ripped off of your body during an attempted gun grab and the fact that the holster will actually melt and bond to your handgun from the heat generated from live fire training.

Wow... I've seen and heard about the flimsiness of the Fobus construction, but never that they would melt. Makes sense though... low-grade plastic.

Interesting...

A Fobus holster came with the G36 I bought. I will keep in it mind about the meltdown. Thanks for the info.

While I don't like Fobus, or other thermoplastic holsters, I never heard of them bonding to the handgun from heat. The holster will deform with enough heat. For Kydex, this starts around 175 degrees F. Certainly a barrel might exceed this temperature but to melt enough to bond?

But plastic holsters can be ripped off of the body pretty easily.

Since the above embedded video don't work, let's try it this way: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDeKtgkZKmQ

Hah, the owner of the video doesn't allow embedding. So much for our fancy technology. :D
