Help identifying bayonet

This bayonet resided in my grandparent's junk drawer for as long as I can remember. I honestly never paid that much attention to it, I wound up with it and still never paid that much attention to it. Apparently my wife was cleaning things out and laid it on the counter for me to take to the garage with the rest of my belongings that she doesn't like. I got to wondering what this might have come off of.

I am by no means an expert but it sure does look like an M4 bayonet designed for the M1 Carbine. 聽Yours would be WWII made with the leather handle.

Get you an M1 Carbine, put it on the end of it, then it can stay in the house. 聽馃榾
