review DPMS Oracle

What do y’all think about the DPMS Oracle AR-15? I own one as my first AR. I wasn’t really happy with the look but at that price point I don’t mind changing furniture.

Never owned one. If the trigger is tolerable, and the rifle is accurate and reliable, well, I don’t know what else a fella could ask from an AR.

Like with anything, you get what you pay for to a degree, and there are diminishing returns on the higher end. DPMS produces guns to a price point, on the low end, outsources most of their parts and production, and hits a target price by compromising on materials and QC. That might sound bad, but it isn't the end of the world if your gun is going to shoot coyotes, paper targets, then live in the closet. You might even get several thousand rounds out of it with no major issues, but it is not a duty grade weapon. For a first AR, to do civilian things, it will probably be just fine.

I've never been a big fan of the AR-style platform, having carried an M16 during my time in the Corps and coming away unimpressed. But when the big push to ban "assault rifles" came along I bought a DPMS rifle. I don't shoot it very often, but I've owned it for quite a long time now with no problems or complaints. Have fun with yours.
