I'm in need of a really good plumber. Honest, dependable and reasonably priced. I think I have a leak in my slab. ☹️

Any recommendations?

I've had good luck with Smith Plumbing and Hugo Plumbing, although neither one was cheap.  From my experience with plumbers (and lots of other things), between good/fast/cheap, you usually get to pick two.

The problem is that there's a small spot right outside my bathroom door where the carpet just stays wet all the time.  Not real big, so the pipe is only seeping. I plan to call several companies and get estimates. I'm also aware that this one of those things that you really can't estimate until you get into it. If the cost is too high, I may just turn it over to my insurance and let them figure it out.

Best to call the insurance first then. They could refuse the claim saying whoever you called messed it up.

I don't plan to have any work done until I get estimates. What they are will be the deciding factor of if I file a claim.

Good, still best to call the insurance first. They'll send you their approved plumbers for an estimate. You can get your own estimates as well and decide if you want to file a claim or not.

Agreed. That's what insurance is for. Years ago our AC leaked and ruined our floors. Insurance paid over $10k to have it all fixed.
