help with Remington 522 viper 22LR

Hey yall,

Recently, a buddy of mine was in a bit of a financial jam, and needed some quick cash.

I am now the owner of a 25+ year old Remington 522 viper 22 LR.

ive ran several mags through it, and contrary to what google says, mine has ate every thing ive fed it

so, here's the problem, my buddy only had one 10rd  mag with it. i thought ok no big deal, ill get another one, which i can for $50 but only a 10 rd mag.

so after doing more research i found that they temporarily made a 25 rd mag for it.

anybody know where i can locate one?  are there any other mags that are compatible?

yikes man, I'm pretty sure you are completely screwed. That rifle is notorious for being unreliable (most attribute that to the magazines). It's also a rifle that generally can't be sold for more than like 30$. As far as I know there are no other compatible magazines. The rifle was dropped pretty quickly and replaced by the 597.

it is indeed a pretty cheap little gun, i would probably pass it up at a pawn shop, but like i said my buddy was in a bind and needed quick cash ($100)

probably not the best buy in the world for sure, but, i have spent a lot more for a lot dumber things lol

Chalk it up to helping a buddy and just bang away with the 10rd mag. Putting more cash into a mag is probably just digging a hole deeper. The 25rd mags were probably made in short supply due to the ban a few months later.

There are 10rd ones out there if you have to have another mag. From reading the plastic mags were blamed for lots of the issues though.
