Hummingbirds?

Has anyone in East Tennessee seen any? I had one that stayed one day but have not seen any others. Last year they were fighting over the feeders.

I need to get my feeders out!

Hummingbird Wars, the most entertaining time of year.

We believe we've had at least one repeat customer for three years running.

Basing that on the fact she will fly up to my wife and hover about.

We're in mid tn and they have been scarce. Others in the area say the same thing. We usually have a dozen or so +_ a few. So far we had 2 but mostly just one youngin.

Libtards probably banned them for using multi ported feeders. <shrug>, lol.

We've seen one so far, but wife has not put the feeder out yet.聽 In years past, the "wars" were very entertaining.聽 After the young ones start flying and fending for themselves, the "dog fights" pick up quite a bit.

We had a few at the feeder early in the season then they stopped hitting it. Noticed that they were going to the large honeysuckle bush instead. Now that the honeysuckle flowers are fading they have come back to the feeder, three at once last night. One even fell asleep for a while sitting on it at dusk till another came along and woke him up. There have been a couple there this morning.

We had several in Mid TN, (Murfreesboro area).聽 Wet on an RV trip, for a week, came back, and all but 2 have left. Still feeding them.聽

I'll add that it's baby season so hummingbirds will feed much more heavily on bugs to provide protein for their babies. One the babies fledge, they'll be back on nectar and feeders.

I put my feeders up the 1st day of April like I do every year and it was about a month before I saw 1 bird. It went like that for almost the whole month before a second on showed up giving me 2 birds. As time went on I got another and then another and I changed out the food (sugar water) and now I have about 8 birds. Last year I had about 15+. I don't have a clue why there are not more birds.

Mine are always late arrivals and late departures.

I put my feeders up at in mid April and change the food out every 5 days when it's cool and 3 days when it's hot. I never saw any until just before Memorial Day. I've had 3 or 4 different ones (a couple of females and at least one male), usually one at a time but I've seen one or two fights when 2 showed up at once.

Mine will probably be more active over the next few weeks. They tend to hang around 3 to 4 weeks after lots of other people in my area post that theirs are gone, sometimes all the way up to a few days after the first frost in October/November.

With two feeders up, I've had as many as 6 birds t a time. That's when they get fun 馃檪
