Recommended Posts

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but  I recently moved to Knoxville and need some recommendations for FFL dealers in this area.

Thanks

If you want selection, SMGA and Buds are right next to one another in Sevierville. Preference to SMGA for service.

Smoky Mountain Gun & Ammo (SMGA) has a store in east Knoxville now.  I know nothing about it but apparently they are open.

Bill’s Outpost down in Alcoa/Maryville is an excellent suggestion.

I’d also check Harvey’s Pistol & Pawn.  They generally have very good prices on in stock items that may not necessitate the need for a transfer if you’re looking at new stuff.

I’ve had great success with Crossroad Firearms in Fountain City! Highly recommend them!

SMGW is now open on Asheville Hwy at the intersection with John Sevier Hwy. They are behind the Wendy’s. They have a great selection of ammo and guns. Prices are just so so, imo.

There's also Range USA right off of I-40 in West Knoxville/Farragut.   They were called Shoot Point Blank, but they changed their name recently.   They have a wide array of new firearms.  Last time I was there, about a month ago, they only had a couple of used firearms, but plenty of new ones.  It's part of a corporate chain of gun stores.

$75 for transfers at Range USA.  No thanks.

Yes, their indoor range is very nice, and their selection of guns n equipment is solid.   The staff n store are great, but they clearly do not want to do any FFL transfers with that $75 fee.

The price is high for transfers hoping you'll buy from them for new guns. Try pawn shops for transfers. They're often cheaper as they want your business.

I got a transfer last week at Volunteer State Armory on Broadway in Lenoir City. $25 plus the $10 background check. My first time in there but he had a good selection and seemed like a good guy to do business with. You might want to check him out.

Range USA's FFL transfers can be free, except for the $10 NIC - you have to be a member at the "elite" membership level for a once a month free FFL transfer.  They also don't do outbound transfers as I understand their rules.
