John Ross passed away

Such a shame. The man was an icon for the 2nd Amendment. Every gun owner should read "Unintended Consequences". Great book. The story is intermixed with actual significant moments in 2A history and helps explain how we got to where we are now.

I met him several times at Knob Creek.  He was truly a legend in the NFA community.  There aren't many of those guys left.  I was hoping that he would finish Cold Resolve.  I hope it will get published; finished or not!

I learned many things from the history of shooting info presented in that book. Pretty good fictional story too. When I first picked it up I never thought I'd never make it through an 800+ page book, but info & story were so good that I finished it pretty quickly. Have re-read it a time or two.

I picked up a paperback copy from Accurate Press last year(?) since the hard cover copies have in creased in price so much. They are still listing them for sale (as of 5/3/22) for $44:

I saw a post at the Indiana Gun Owners forum that said re: Cold Resolve "the publisher picked it up Saturday and it will be published".

I read that John Ross "ended the copyright protection himself in 2009 the text is public domain" in the INGO thread.  PDF versions of the book can be found here (and other places):

Hey everyone, I just stumbled upon this old thread and wanted to chime in. I'm really sorry to hear about John Ross's passing. It's always tough when we lose someone who has made such an impact on our lives. Unintended Consequences is definitely a classic, and I can understand why it's one of your all-time favorites. It's a sad day for sure, especially for those of us who appreciate the gun culture. Does he have a Memorial? Just curious.
