Ok. I think I am scared out of buying online and buying a Taurus

Why not buy online? I've bought over half of my guns from online sources and have never experienced a problem. I'm not going to delve into the whole "help your local retailer" discussion. There's nothing wrong with Taurus. Some have had bad experiences, some have not. I've owned two and both have performed flawlessly in over 1000 rnds (both revolvers, so YMMV). Sure their customer service ain't the greatest but you get what you pay for.

Yes to what BK and Joe said.

1. Yes, all my handguns are 9mm. Crazy or not I don't care.

2. Yes, if the Taurus had shot a couple thousand rounds ( including a couple hundred of my carry ammo ) without a hitch down range without a problem, sure.

3. That's going to be a personal issue. My G19 printed to much for me so I got a Taurus 905 Jframe (Originally it was a Taurus 85, but I traded that for the 905, 38 to 9mm) then I heard of several robberies in Knoxville involving four attackers so I got a G26. I don't know why but the G26 only being a half inch shorter conceals much better for me.

4. According to the Commercial Appeal and the Knox News Sentinel you should be OK.

Can't claim for anyones warranty but I would think over time most Ruger, Springfield, or S&W firearms would hold value or gain more than a Taurus.

But I have liked the Taurus revolvers I have had a lot. No idea about the Taurus semi's.

1. Absolutely, considered and if I were to replace my XD .40 I would and will go to 9mm.

2. Would have to fire a lot through it to trust a Taurus. Some run great, no problems, some don't.

3.You probably aren't printing as bad as you think. Most people will never see it. Consider a MTAC IWB that is tuckable. Take a picture, we will tell you if it is bad or not...

4. Should be fine, but there is really only one way to find out. Do it and you won't wonder anymore.

Martin eh, head down to RangeUSA in Memphis. Try some other guns out (rentals), look in their consignment case, might have something you like. Find something you like, they can order it for you.

Does anyone have any experience with Ruger, Springfield, or S&W customer service/warranty?

I had to use S&W warranty. They paid postage both ways and had my gun back in less than 2 weeks. I give them an A +

Oh, god no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are going to carry a Taurus?! Terrible choice!!!!!! They have NEVER proven reliable!!!!!! You'd be much better off with a Jennings, HI-point, Sky, or even a glock that has been buried in mud since 1988. It's true, I read it on the internet, and it's never wrong.

I know enough from reading that all three are considered good to outstanding. Hardly any complaints.

i broke a spring in my ruger p90 it was my fault, i called ruger to buy one the guy on the phone said thats why you buy a ruger they have a lifetime guarantee it will be there in a few days it came the next day free of charge. the grip cracked on a springfield 1911 i called springfield and they mailed me a new set free, and paid the return shipping for the original grips ,they wanted them back for some reason.

1. Would you trust your life with a 9mm round (17 rounds to be exact)? (don't think that it is all you can get your hands on, would you choose it)

2. Would you trust your life with a Taurus Semi Auto?

3. When carrying concealed, if the gun you felt most comfortable with was a bit too big to be perfectly concealed (the handle pokes out a bit in a shirt), would you still carry it or find a smaller gun?

4. This is a long one; As far as a hand gun carry permit, would I qualify?

I get approved for handguns, havent had a ticket in 5 years, but did get denied a gun about a year ago. I got denied because of a $10 bad check . I went out of town and never knew it went bad. In that county, I had to be booked in and out and pay the fine. Went to apply for a gun a few months later and got denied. Called TBI and found out that Gibson County never put a final disposition in the system. Long story short, letter signed by Trenton PD, mailed to TBI, all cleared and can buy again. That is all that is on my record. Would these things keep me from getting approved?

I'm another person who has had two very good experiences with S&W CS. I also REALLY dig their 3rd gen autos. The 4013 is freakin' awesome.
