Power wise it's about where the聽.45 Super is. It just has a fatter bullet. The designers said people have said for over a hundred years, that they carry a .45 because,聽 they don't make a .46 or anything else bigger. It was designed to be a carry gun. It's been out awhile and I just heard about it, so...... It may never be popular.

Nobody makes anything bigger or more powerful than the .45 & anyone who says different is just spouting Hollywood nonsense. 馃檮

That does look like an ashtray about to take off.

The .50 G.I. has been around since 2006.聽 It and the guns for it are made by聽Guncrafter Industries. It seems it never caught on. The pistols聽Guncrafter make are custom guns. Reported to be extremely well made and accurate. However, the ammo is also custom and I know of no commercial source other than聽Guncrafter.聽聽At roughly $50 for a box of 20 rounds. I think I'll pass.聽
