I use shot bags filled with sawdust. Light weight and non abrasive to firearms.

I use old shot bags also except I fill mine with sand. If you can get your hands on more than a couple, you can have someone run a seam across the center of one using a sewing machine. Then you can fill up each side independently. What you end up with is a perfect bag for placement under the buttstock or forearm if you do not have a stock with a beavertail forearm.

I made some once. I used the long sleaves out of some old t-shirts or sweat shirts. I cut them off and tied knots in the ends. It worked great except my dumb butt used bird seed to fill them with, it was light weight, but the mice in the garage had plenty of food that winter. I had holes in my bags ans a mess to clean up in the spring.

I didn't think of sawdust or sand...........I never said I was the brightest crayon in the box!!

TDR,

I got some that are home made from old denim pant legs filled with medium (driveway) gravel. Got three of them and they're yours if'n you want them.

Two are the same size medium size, one is larger than the two.

I saw some that a guy had at the range. He had wool socks stuffed with dry beans and a couple with rice.
