rear sight adjustment tips?

OK, I am getting more comfortable with my PA63. Shot some nice groups yesterday where I had usually been all over the place (gripping too hard--used to a heavier revolver).

I'm shooting a tad bit to the left, and the rear sight is slightly off center to the left. I know it needs to go back over tot he right, but what's the best way to move it without messing up the metal. It's pretty snug.

Should I use a nail set and put the large in down and maybe a thin piece of cloth between the two? Do I take the slide off to adjust it?

Thanks in advance.

can you make a plastic or polymer type wedge from something around the shop or house? Use a wedge interface so you don't strike the sight directly. My punch set came with a plastic punch that I use to do things like that so I don't mar finishes. Even at that, I would still put a patch or something between the plastic and the sight.

Another item I use quite often now is an old turkey call striker. My AR is a nice tight one so a gentle tap with the striker starts those pins moving without scratching them.

I hadn't thought of using a cleaning patch between the punch and the sight. Thanks.

I don't have a plastic punch, but I will try to find something along those lines.
