Call me impatient. . .

I joined the TGO forum this evening, and found the phone # to check on my permit. It's been 2 weeks yesterday, so I'm gonna call tomorrow.

Call me impatient, but prior to being 'printed, I was printed 4 weeks previously for my senior membership in the CAP cadet squadron in Williamson Co., and two weeks previously when I bought my new pistol. So . . . .TBI and the FBI have both seen my prints w/i the past month and both checks came back clean and quick. I guess I just demand an ROI for the tax dollars the government extorts from all of us. I'll let you all know as soon as I receive my permit.

Welcome to TGO...

I'd suggest patience.

You have waited this long to get your permit, whats another month or so. Your instructor should have told you the state has 90 days to get the permit to you, thats the law. You see when impatient people start calling and bugging the HCP office, that means they cant do their jobs... thats doing the queries for the applications... which means it will take longer for everyone.

You might wind up getting bottom stacked instead. I'd wait it out a bit.

My roommate called at two weeks, was Tuesday last week.

They had the thing processed already, so they issued it.

He had it on Friday.

Quickest I've ever seen the state of TN do anything, lol.

Mine took about 27 days to get to me from the day I did the paperwork and got finger printed, then again that was 5 years ago.I've tended to notice the people whom already have had their "prints" on file for years have received their permit back sooner than others whom haven't. Then again maybe I just got lucky.

Time of year also factors into it. I'd also assume that with the democrats in office, people buying guns and ammo, are more than likley attempting to get thier permits as well causing an increase in paperwork to the state of TN therefore causeing delays.

My .02........

I've yet to hear of anyone being "bottom stacked". The average wait right now seems to be about 3-4 weeks with calling. Doesn't seem like its putting them in that much of a bind. If you want to be patient then don't call and wait a couple months for your permit. If not, call them and get it a heck of a lot sooner. If it wasn't their job to answer your questions then they wouldn't publish the number. I say call. Can't hurt nothing. That's what those people are there for. Might as well use them and abuse them. :usa:

Welcome.

You gotta be cool. :usa: The state's got 90 days to issue. This time last year they were taking darn near all of it. Feel good that you might only need to wait a month.

I think they told me it would take 4-6 weeks. It was 6 weeks exactly! It is hard to be patient when you are waiting for something so important to you.

Wait until you have to renew it.

That's a whole other story/waiting time.

Took them 3 months to the day to get mine back.

Hint: renew 3 months ahead of time, I did. ( and I didn't call, was just patient about it )
