New Carry Gun - Kinda

So I switched to a Glock 48 a while ago.  I like the slim frame and with the Shield Arms mags you can carry 15+1.

Another TGO member had a G48 MOS for sale and I ended up doing a trade with him.  I just picked up a Holosun 407 and got it mounted.

With the 407 mounted it would almost fit but not quite my current IWB kydex holster.  Got the dremel out and did a little work to the kydex and now my holster hold both of my G48's.

I need to get some range time shooting with the holosun.  Once I get accustomed to shooting with the rds it will become my new carry gun.

I keep trying to convince myself that I want a G48.  I think if I didn't have so many G19-sized guns, I'd probably be more inclined to do it.

They look pretty awesome and well-rounded for EDC.

IMO, lots better choices out there. Sig 365, 938. H&K VP9SK. SA 911. Lots more I can't think of just now.

No, I'm not a Glock guy.

Last year I went to rds on three of my handguns (four actually but sold one).

On the Sig P320 it makes a absolutely fantastic gun for steel.

On my lowly S&W Victory it is also a boon at the range.

On my Hellcat it looks great, but haven't carried it much.

Have to practice a lot to get used to a rds drawn from a holster, as in a defensive situation.  I have noticed that my tendency with a red dot out of the holster is to aim a bit low out of the holster.  It takes a conscious effort to retrain my mind to "seemingly" push the muzzle up a bit when presenting the firearm.  It feels different and don't think it is just me.  At the range they are just great and am absolutely sold on them.

Guess if I keep practicing I will feel more comfortable with one on a edc,

😜Anyway, practice makes..."somewhat competent" in my case.

I have carried a G43x for almost 2 years. I’m surprised with it’s accuracy,so much in fact I figured a 48 would be even better. After I bought one I noticed no discernible reduction in recoil or increase in accuracy compared to the 43x.Both are great platforms.
