A buddy of mine just gave me a shot shell reloader. It is an MEC 600 JR in 12 gauge. I had to Liquid Wrench it to get it to function and will have to get a few parts for it (the bottles for shot and powder are busted) What do i need to start messing around with it. I will clean all the Liquid Wrench off it but i just want to start reloading a little at a time. I've got some hulls and i know i need powder, shot, and wads. I need to find a reloading manual is there any to recommend. Thanks in advance.

Hodgdon.com has lots of good reloading charts on their website. Powder depends on the type of loads. Good fast powders are Hodgdon clays, Alliant red dot and green dot and Winchester WST for up to 1 1/8 oz loads. Winchester WSF and Hodgdon Longshot are good for heavy field loads. Go to reloaders bench and get wads and shot to match what you are loading for.

Start by deciding what hulls to use, collect a lot of them, then decide what powder and wad to use. I like the AA hulls myself and use Green Dot to load with.

Have fun!!!
