Thanks, all…I saw “Jesse James” ammo but never considered the rifle was built by him.  Reddit claims it’s around $3500 but it’s not advertised on his site.  It’s called the Califa or Califas…

It doesn’t use a standard ar recoil system-no extension or buffer.

im smitten by it but the pic above is obviously an SBR so that and $3500 kills it for me.  Still though-never thought I’d see such an appealing ‘featureless’ rifle.

That is either modeled after our licensed by Ares / Fightlite. They use a modified carrier that has a tail that works  with a Mossberg style recoil system.

I have an Ares rifle and they run a less than a third their ridiculous  price. They stocks are swappable for most any nice Mossy custom stocks and you can run any AR upper using the proprietary carrier. Gives lots of great options.

The JJ version must be meant for the types that would buy Ed Hardy shirts and have all the traits that go with them😉

Jesse is well known for licensing or stealing designs and claiming them as his own.   He is a pretty crappy human being.

I'm not crazy about HAVING to skirt the law, but I wouldn't mind owning one of the fightlite setups just for the originality.

I think the SCR is pretty cool. I wouldn’t mind having one at all.

I really want one of their belt fed uppers.

I wouldn't mind picking up  another if  came across the pistol version. The only thing that is slightly unfortunate is they have a proprietary trigger so you can pop in the AR upgrade options. The factory trigger is decent however.

Nice looking piece. I've watched a couple interviews of JJ on his gun business. He is meticulous with his firearms and just as passionate as he is with bikes.

even if they are a bit,,,extravagant. The amount of work justifies the cost even it they are out of my range,
