To say I'm sorta excited about this one is a bit of an understatement!  I've become a big fan of Turkish guns.  They are affordable and reliable.  And they are cloning all the classics.

If you go to the EAA website, you will see that they are making the MCP35 in a more traditional form. though there is no blue or stainless steel version. They are a cerakote. There is no piccatiny rail or beveled mag well either.  They are much truer to the Browning Hi-Power of old.

Here is the link. Girsan MCP35 - EAA Corp.

Please don't misunderstand this, as I love technological advances (well, some of them) as much as the next person, but if you are going to launch something touted as a "HI Power clone" why would you depart from the original format so much?  I can see some tweaks here or there, but to change capacity, ambi-safetys/releases, a rail system, etc, etc.....  Doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose of releasing a classic clone???

@Grayfox54 is going to love that.  😀

Actually I DO like it. I got nothing against modern upgrades. Not really my thing, but I can appreciate it for others who want them.  I admit, I could be tempted if I run across one. 😉

After all,  it is still an actual Hi-Power.  Ain't nuthin' wrong with that. 👍

WOW! 2022 is turning into the year of the Hi-Power! 😍

The difference between this and the FN offering is that this is still an HiPower inside. It’s got some modern upgrades on it, but it is undeniably still a HP.

What if the FN identifies as a High Power?

It can identify as whatever it wants but when you check under inside the pants, it ain’t a HiPower.

Glad to see a classic arm coming back. The SA looks like the one to check out, don't know anything about this one

In a free country a long long time ago, me and most of my friends chose customized 1911’s over the Hy Po. Were we wrong?  Was the 1911, not the best of the 20th century?  If not, why did it win all the competitions?*  The 9mm round was looked at as some foreign whimpy cartridge back then (not now).

*In retrospect it might be because thats mostly what people shot.  Ok some 38 holdouts  I actually shot a couple of matches with a friends SW model 52.
