Getting a rifle to fit is not easy. Try putting the rifle on the floor, you stand in a chair and take the pic. When you look at the view finder look for shadows, then adjust the position of every thing to get a better shot.

Also maybe mess around with a photo outside at different times of day. I’ve discovered that for my situation a picture at a certain spot on my back porch late afternoon has the perfect lighting, so I don’t have to mess with the shadows caused by the indoor light, and I can stand back far enough to get the whole subject in the frame. Then I can get in close for detail shots, like the nice detail work on the bottom of your rifle. If he hasn’t already done a thread on it, maybe TGO David can chime in with some advice. His photos always look like magazine quality, which might also mean he’s using something better than a cell phone camera.

Ahh.

Now that makes a lot of sense. 
All I have is my phone and iPad.

Also trying outside. I never thought of that.
