Looks like most of it missed the west end. We got a light dusting. Barely enough to show on the ground. Roads are wet, but clear. Lots of places closed for no reason. 🙄

We got about the same as the last one a few days ago and it is still spitting flurries. The bad part about this one is the cold weather that is with it. Last one melted  a day of so later but this one will take longer to melt. This is what we have so far in Gordonsville.

My son-in-law just brought me the extension cords in case we need to fire up the generators for power outages. It's nice to know we have them for backups if we need them to keep Freezers and Fridge operating along with a few lights and small space heaters. They both are 30 AMP generators so will power what is necessary. Hope I don't need them but better to have and not need than to need and not have!!!!

In 6 hours we have 5" on the ground per Nikki Dee's measuring policy and it is halfway to a whiteout. We could have 8+ before this is done, hope the 49 degree temps Saturday melts this stuff!!

Ended up with 5," in 6 hours on Lofton Road/Lascassas TN this afternoon. It is 25 right now.

So you're saying shorts & flip flops then?    😆

25 deg this morning in SE TN. Had rain yesterday but not a spec of snow here. I doubt there was any east of Monteagle. The mtn range seems to funnel storms to the north.

Much to my surprise and disappointment, the roads here were fine. I was hoping it would either be so bad I couldn't go to work, or I'd at least get some good drifting practice in on the way. Unfortunately neither happened.

Had a whopping 1 deg this am,on 2 thermometers. Obviously,  the snow hasn't budged.

Strange, here in Mt Juliet we got down to 18 on 3 different thermometers. I was up most of the night worried about pipes freezing and the temp did not get that cold, yes 18 is cold. I worry at the temps that were predicted.

When I moved in here 2 years ago one of my first investment was in 4 heat tapes for my pipes and have not had to worry about frozen pipes. My main concern is power loss and no heat in the house other than small space heaters that would have to operate off generator. That would put a strain on the generator to heat the house and operate fridge and freezer and 1 lamp plus heat tapes. Tommy said the generator would more than handle it and I'm just glad I have not had to find out!!!!

I had similar paranoia so several years ago when it got down to 10F,  I crawled under my house with a thermometer. Temps adjacent to the water lines were about 35F.  So now I know I'm fine at 10, probably fine well into single digits. That's with power/heat in the house.  Very different if no heat.
