HB 0724/SB 1129 Allows individuals with permits to carry on post secondary campuses

So, why has there been no movement on HB0724?

My guess is that all of the provisions in this bill is covered in other bills that are making their way through the committees.

But the problem that I have noticed with the other bills is that--the other bills which would allow carry on post secondary campuses all apply either to faculty or to the police/military....the students who attend the campuses who have a permit, or can obtain one are still without the ability to carry there. Why is it that we the students are judged unworthy when le/military and the professors will be allowed to carry if these bills pass? Why are we the students unworthy?

Now, why the military needs to have a firearm on a university campus is beyond me-last time I checked UT.k was not a militarized zone...

I would venture to say waynesan is right, but you can contact Rep Kelsey (the bills sponsor) and he would probably tell you.

I contacted sponsors of different bills last year and all got back with me.
