Chevy Christmas Commercial

I thought it was a great commercial and glad that it didn't appear to virtue-signal anything. Glad to see a commercial where there's no men kissing each other.

Well, it got to me.  My Dad, who died in 1991, was a die hard Chevy man, and I have longed to restore a '68 Chevy Impala Super Sport in his memory.

God Bless you, Dad.

I miss you . . .

I kinda like it. But it does make me sad.

Christmas car commercials in general just make me shake my head. Do you or anybody you know ever really give or receive a car for Christmas? The whole idea is ludicrous to me.

I do know people who both gave & received cars for Christmas.

I also know a family that had their father's car restored for their grandson.

It was not a commercial about selling a car. It was a heart warming commercial about a daughter doing something for her father and a small garage stepping up to help and to me that is what Christmas is all about. I liked and enjoyed it.....JMHO

Actually I just bought my 49 year old daughter a new Bright Red Kia Soul for Christmas. Since she is an only child and will inherit what little I have, I decided to give her part of it now so I can watch her enjoy it. Of course I also bought myself a new Ford Maverick truck while I was at it. No need to leave any money behind.

Meh.   I've been a car guy for a long time.  I watched a ton of episodes of Overhaulin' and Garage Squad.   Seeing it happen for real is a lot cooler than a commercial meant to sell some cars.

But Overhaulin' doesn't have sad guitar music . . .

Cause overhaulin’ wasn’t trying to force you to feel something.  It was more, this is what we’re doing, how we’re doing it, and who we are doing it with and for, and we’ll have some fun along the way.
