Beretta 92 Volunteer edition - SPM on 2/4

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Made a couple of big (for me) gun purchases lately so figure I'll throw this one out here to see if anyone wants it more than I would like to keep it.

Beretta 92 Volunteer edition. I bought this gun new and it is unfired since I had it. (I assume they still factory test fire them) It has been on a display stand in my living room, handled and the slide racked maybe a dozen times since I've had it. Beautiful gun with the special grips and engraving. Plenty of info on them via the Google so won't go into the specs or details. There is a minor imperfection near the takedown lever. Tried to get a picture of it the best I could. Not sure what it is but was there from the factory. (4th picture)

Feel free to PM me with any questions.

$1,000 takes her home.  SPM on 2/4

Did these come out just after the Beretta Plant opened in Gallatin?

They were released 2 years after the move.

I have one and it’s a beatutiful out of the box BBQ gun.

I will say the OP missed out by never shooting his. The 92 Volunteer is a combination of the Brigadier and 92 G and is one of the smoothest shooting 92s I have ever had in my hands.

I'm sure it's a sweet shooter but I've had  4 of the Wilson Combat Berettas (both the Brigadier and Centurion versions) so I don't think I've missed out too bad 😎

Does it have any fancy presentation box with it?

I assume all paperwork and stuff from factory comes with it?

No fancy presentation box,  they just came in the regular factory Beretta boxes, and yes everything that came with it will be included. (I'll get a pic of the box this evening)

NickinTn is the man responsible for me buying one! LOL! Saw him comment on these way back then, when first released. Wild stories flying about concerning what they were and why released.

I bought one and thought to myself..."You're Crazy!" You don't even shoot the one you have now! I lost the conversation. It's one of the most beautiful Berettas I have ever seen.

And the answer is no, I've never shot it either. Just never liked the big, heavy pistol.

Someday I may offer mine for sale. Someday. LOL. But when I do, the Desert Storm model will go as well.

This may or may not be true, but one of the tales on the Tennessee Beretta floating around back then is this.

Supposedly a shipment of pistols destined to become Wilson Combat specials were turned down by WC. I don't know why. When they were returned to Beretta, rather than destroy them and take a loss on the order; the big-wigs decided to do a bit of work and the slides and sell them to the public.

I heard this story several times, as I said, have no verification on it. Sounds good anyway.
