What else do I need?

I have my press, some of the dies I need (.40 is on backorder), primers, powder finally, my bench, and some other little stuff. I have this kit http://www.leeprecision.com/html/catalog/turretpress.html which is

Lee Deluxe 4 Hole Turret Press Kit with Auto Index which is the 5th thing down on the page.

I know I need a tumbler and I'm gonna try and check out northern tool or harbor freight (suggestions on what to get and avoid appreciated) and also gonna look for some calipers.

What else do I need to get before I get started?

If it did not come with it I would highly recommend a Lee hand priming tool.I am not sure what you are looking at on the 5th item down???, the lock stud and trimmer maybe.

As to tumblers, look at Midway or Midsouth Shooters supply and look for a vibratory cleaner, quick and easier than tumblers and usually larger and less expensive.

If you go the Lee Deluxe 4 Hole Turret Press Kit with Auto Index, then you should not need the hand primer.

You got this kit right?

I didn't see any mention of a reloading manual, get one or two, or 3 and read before you start.

That kit is the one I started with. I removed the indexing bar and used the press as a single stage until I was comfortable with reloading (didn't take long).

I think a kinetic hammer should be on your list of items to purchase. Its always nice to salvage a bullet every now and again. JMTC

yeah that's the kit I have. I'm not too confident in the scale, might try and pick up a digital one.

i can't find any reloading manuals anywhere local, maybe i'll see if anyone here has any extras tey can part with.

Definitely get an inertia-type bullet puller and a cartridge gage for every caliber you plan to load. Here are a couple examples:

Just set up my 4 hole turret press today. Seems like you'll need the shell holders for the case trimmer.

Also, when you mount the press, you may have clearance issues. If your bench top extends beyond the frame of the bench you should be okay, but if the top is flush with the frame you may have to either mount the press a little further out, or notch out a section for the linkage that pushes the ram to have room to move.

also be careful if you plan on reloading 40 for a glock that the brass was previously shot in a glock. The case is not 100% supported in a glock's barrel and can rupture or go kaboom if you reload it and reshoot it in a glock.
