Does anyone have a source for these primers. They seem to be scarce (imagine that). The cheapest I can find is about $30 per 1K plus shipping and hazmat fee.

Save yourself some heartache.. you don't have to get pistol and rifle primers.. just get small rilfe and large rifle primers.. you will be fine and that way you will never get primers mixed up.

Best source for anything is Powder Valley.

they have been out for some time. they will take orders and you might get it in.

last week benton shooter in benton tn has rifle primers, but no small pistol. price is around $35.00 a thousand. that is the lowest price i have found in southeast tennesssee. i pickup some small primers in chattanooga last week for $39.99 plus tax. it was a rip off, but i need some (i will never get myself in that bind again). i will not go into that gun store again. everything was priced high. i don't mind if you make money on what you sale, but some are over the top and the bad thing people are paying.

Gander Mountain in West Knox had some yesterday...expensive, but in stock...at least then.

Not a good idea in many applications. I have found the cups on rifle primers are thicker and harder, I have to assume they are also hotter to ignite the much slower burning powders used in rifles. I tried it one time and many of my revolvers had misfires....I never tried that again.
