Are You Safe After the Storms?

Okay here in South Nashville after straight-line winds of 80+ on my weather station.  Spent an hour in a closet between 3 & 4 am until the end of tornado warnings.  We have power and internet.  NO power on Old Hickory (Nippers Corner area), Edmondson Pike, and Nolensville Pike from Thompson Lane to Old HIckory.  Since traffic signals are not functioning, traffic is terrible.

Hope you and yours are safe.  God's blessings upon all who have lost and the tragedy in KY.

Part of my daughters neighbors house fell onto her fence and just missed her house by a few feet. They lost some trees and gutters but that’s it. She lives out off of Bell road by Percy Priest.
we lucked out here in Bellevue. We didn’t even lose power.

The guys at Nashville Severe Weather were tracking straight line winds in excess of 90 MPH in the Percy Priest area.

We had 30 mph winds or more, lost the cover to the TT, roof panel was dry rotted, and the wind just split it down the middle.  Cover was laying on the ground all around the TT, not covering the TT.  Cut the remaining material on the lower edge, and drug it into the shed.  Luckily I got this done before the rain arrived.

Wind also broke off one of the main upper forks of a cedar tree in the front yard.   It was a nice looking cedar tree, now it looks funky from one side.  LOL.  Neighbor had 2 shutters blow off his house, with 2 hanging on for dear life.

The power went out for about 25 minutes, when all was calm, no wind, no rain, etc., just like you turned the lights out.  LOL

My brother and his family and my oldest daughter and her family live in Mayfield, Kentucky and the immediately surrounding area.  All of them are safe.  My brother's family had to evacuate due to lack of utilities.  Their town was obliterated, as we've all seen on the news.

Mayfield is one of two towns where I spent a lot of my life growing up.  It's only 30 miles or so from my actual hometown.  There's nothing much in between them other than farmland.  Mayfield was my high-school's rival team, but all of us in spent an equal amount of time between both towns growing up.  I know a lot of that town's streets like I knew my own.  I recognize some of it from the photos, but all of the landmarks I've known my entire life are now completely gone.

To say it's heartbreaking is an understatement.

All good here, the damage was just north of us but a few trees down around us.  One tree snapped right next door, but I didn't even get my trashcan knocked over, or lose any tarps.  Up by my work, Ft Campbell, there is a bunch of damage, even snapped a few powerline poles up Hwy 117.

It got a little hairy for a while down here. Some trees down, big branches and neighbors lost some shingles and about 40 feet of privacy fence. We did just fine though. This up and down with the temps causing all this mess is wearing down my last nerve .

Me and mine in Dickson, Mt Juliet and Tuckers Cross Roads are all OK. Praying for all the lost lives and all involved.

My family and I are fine and had no damage but we're still without power in our part of Hendersonville.  We're staying with my in-laws in Cottontown (who do have electricity) and grateful to them.

Gordonsville was spared most of the carnage that many towns got. We had high winds, thunder and lightning and a bunch of wind. Prayers going out to the many that have lost everything including family members. My sons house was 5 miles from where those 2 police officers where trapped trying to cross that bridge in Cheatham County. He said he had 1 big tree fall on a truck in his yard and he said there was parts of houses laying on the road he lives on but no houses on that road were damaged so it was debris being carried by the storm being dropped on the road. I watched the weather and they kept talking about that one big Twister that was on the ground cutting a path of destruction for I think 200 miles. The weatherman kept telling people to get in their safe spot and to be honest, I don't think there was a safe place to go in that storm!! Again Prayers going out every night for the Victims of this terrible storm event!!!

No damage for us in Lascassas TN (8 mi east of M'boro). Slept through it. Prayers for all adversely affected. My church took supplies to Mayfield and plan more. I volunteered my truck and 20 ft trailer for next trip.
